Service Manager – Dundas, ON
Competitive Salary: $90,000–$95,000/year + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits
Are you an experienced Service Manager or Fleet Manager with a strong background in the transportation industry?
We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead a team of skilled service technicians responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty commercial vehicles in Dundas, ON.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who understands service operations, customer relationships, technician development, and the importance of running an efficient and profitable service department. Dealership experience is considered a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shop operations and ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Review, manage, and close work orders while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare repair estimates and bids, and provide timely oversight of quotes for repair and maintenance work.
- Review and evaluate work orders for accuracy, profitability, and completeness.
- Address and resolve customer and internal service concerns professionally and effectively.
- Manage and evaluate department P&L, including capital expenditures and operating expenses.
- Work closely with other departments to promote communication, collaboration, and a strong team environment.
- Manage employee-related matters, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Identify technician training needs and coordinate training to ensure technicians remain current with evolving technology and industry practices.
- Promote a safe, professional, and productive shop environment.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of management experience within the heavy construction, mining equipment, commercial vehicle, or related heavy-equipment industry.
- Previous Service Manager, Fleet Manager, Shop Manager, or similar leadership experience.
- Dealership experience is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service and relationship-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn and utilize service management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
- Strong understanding of service department operations, repair processes, and work-order management.
Compensation & Benefits
- $90,000–$95,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
