Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: $70,000–$80,000 CAD annually + benefits
Schedule: Weekdays only – no weekends

About the Company

Our client is an established Canadian distributor specializing in premium products and solutions for the kitchen, bathroom, plumbing and building-products industry.

Working with a network of dealers, boutiques, designers, architects and other industry professionals, the company represents high-quality product lines used in residential and commercial projects.

They are currently expanding their presence in the Greater Toronto Area and are looking for a Showroom Consultant to take ownership of their showroom in the Vaughan area, Toronto.

This is a newly created position and an excellent opportunity for someone who combines customer-facing experience with a strong eye for design, interiors and product presentation.

The Role

As the Showroom Consultant, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, designers and architects visiting the showroom.

Your role is not about high-pressure retail sales. Instead, you'll provide a consultative and design-focused experience—helping visitors explore products, understand available options, visualize solutions for their spaces and make informed selections.

The showroom itself is designed to showcase and present the company's products. Purchases are ultimately completed through the company's dealer and boutique network, so maintaining strong relationships with those partners is an important part of the role.

You'll be the primary person responsible for the showroom, while working alongside a broader customer service team located nearby.

What You'll Do

  • Welcome customers, designers, architects and other visitors to the showroom
  • Present and explain kitchen, bathroom and related product solutions
  • Understand customers' projects, preferences and design objectives
  • Help customers visualize products within their kitchen, bathroom or renovation project
  • Review and interpret basic plans, drawings and project concepts
  • Recommend products and options based on style, functionality and project requirements
  • Develop strong relationships with designers, architects and industry professionals
  • Serve as a key point of contact for professional partners visiting the showroom
  • Provide information regarding product availability and expected delivery timelines
  • Follow up with customers after showroom visits and maintain engagement throughout their decision-making process
  • Coordinate with internal customer service and sales teams
  • Support and maintain strong relationships with the company's dealer and boutique network
  • Ensure the showroom remains professional, welcoming and representative of the company's brands
  • Take ownership of the overall customer experience within the showroom

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is polished, personable and comfortable working independently while creating an exceptional experience for showroom visitors.

Ideally, you bring approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience in a customer-facing, showroom, design, sales or consultative environment.

Experience could come from areas such as:

  • Kitchen & bath showrooms
  • Plumbing fixtures
  • Interior design
  • Architecture or architectural products
  • Building materials
  • Flooring, tile or surfaces
  • Furniture or premium home products
  • Lighting
  • High-end residential products
  • Other design-oriented showroom environments

Direct plumbing industry experience is not mandatory. The client is open to candidates from different industries if they demonstrate a strong design sense, an ability to understand drawings or project concepts, and the confidence to recommend solutions based on a customer's space and vision.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidate will have:

  • A natural eye for design, style and visual presentation
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working with customers in a consultative environment
  • Confidence interacting with designers and architects
  • The ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products
  • Comfort discussing kitchen, bathroom, renovation or design projects
  • Strong follow-up and organizational skills
  • A professional and polished communication style
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of a showroom
  • Strong English communication skills

French/English bilingualism is considered an asset but is not required for this position.

Compensation & Work Environment

  • Base Salary: $70,000–$80,000 CAD annually, depending on experience
  • Group benefits: Medical, dental, long-term disability (LTD) & life insurance
  • Retirement savings plan
  • On-site parking
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Monday–Friday schedule
  • No weekend work
  • On-site at the company's GTA showroom
  • Stable base salary with no commission structure

The client is looking to hire as soon as the right person is identified, although there is no fixed start date.

Why This Opportunity?

This is a chance to step into a brand-new role and become the face of an established company's Toronto showroom.

You'll have considerable ownership of the showroom experience while building relationships with customers, designers and architects. For someone who enjoys the intersection of design, customer experience and consultative sales, without the pressure of a traditional commission-driven retail environment, this could be an excellent fit.

Interested?

If you have experience in a showroom, interior design, kitchen & bath, building products or another design-focused customer environment, we'd love to hear from you!

Apply confidentially by sending your resume to [email protected]

Group benefits including medical, dental, long-term disability (LTD), and life insurance, plus a retirement savings plan.
