Position: Slitter Operator
Compensation: $30.74 CAD

Hours of Work:
12-hour continental rotating shifts. From time to time, overtime will be required. This shift is not fixed and may be subject to change. If a shift change is required, you will be notified in advance.

Reporting To:
Production Manager / Shift Supervisors

SUMMARY:

Responsible for supplying the customer with quality material that consistently meets expectations through efficient operation of equipment. All employees are mandated to create a zero injury environment and engage actively in all areas of SPS.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Understanding and proper application of all safety rules, regulations and procedures including proper personal protective equipment and safe manufacturing practices. (e.g. Cut resistant gloves and proper handling of blades)

• Maintain all company health and housekeeping standards

• Identify and remove quality defects

• Operate slitting machine

• Set-up new jobs and getting materials ready at the line

• Proper handling of blades

• Change blades as necessary

• Ensure proper cores and rewind shafts are in place

• Set-up slitting widths

• Slit materials to meet all customer specifications

• Minimize waste and improve efficient use of materials

• Set the standard for excellence in product quality

• Ensure product quality meets all customer requirements

• Efficiently communicate with others

• Troubleshoot and analyze slitters, doctor machines, and core cutters errors to determine its origin/cause (mechanical or human) and assist maintenance or correct.

• Perform applicable quality checks

• Accurate reporting of production and downtime

• Maintain department documentation

• Cut cores as needed or directed

• Verify impression count based upon repeat calculation

• Attend training seminars as directed

• Accurate ei3 reporting

• Run machine to set specifications for job being produced

• Perform other duties as assigned
