Looking for a role where your work makes a visible impact every day? Join our team as a Structure Maintainer and play a key role in preserving and repairing stations, tunnels, bridges, and drainage systems that support the safe operation of transit services across the city.
The work will normally be performed on night shifts with Thursday/Friday as off days reporting from our Davisville Yard which may vary as directed by work assignments. This recruitment may be utilized for future opportunities that become available.
The Structure Maintainer performs structure maintenance, repair and cleaning duties on station, tunnel and bridge structures and associated track drainage systems. The work involves water jetting, track drainage system cleaning, minor structural concrete repairs, placement of concrete and grout, set-up and operation of pressure washers and drainage cleaning equipment. In addition, the Structure Maintainer will carryout workcar monitoring duties, perform type 1 and 2 asbestos removal duties as required, assist the Structure Repairperson and the Structure Mechanic.
You will assist with minor maintenance and repair work involving concrete work such has cutting out, chipping and removing concrete; assisting with layout and placement of reinforcing steel and assisting with construction of forms or templates, mixing and applying concrete materials to the deteriorated areas and finishing the concrete surface.
The work is performed under the direction of the Supervisor or their designate.
