Team Leader - Site Investigation and Remediation

We are seeking a Team Leader for our Site Investigation and Remediation practice in Ontario to drive mentorship, growth and lead project delivery for complex environmental projects across the province and beyond. Our Site Investigation and Remediation team is one of the largest in the province, and we have a network of technical and client leaders across the country to support you in your career growth. We are growing and looking for strong leaders to join our team.

This role is well suited to someone who enjoys bringing people together, guiding complex projects, and helping clients navigate environmental challenges with confidence. Working closely with practice and business leadership, you will use your project management experience, technical knowledge, and understanding of federal and provincial regulations to support high-quality work for public and private sector clients. You will also play an important role in mentoring and developing staff, supporting workload planning, and helping foster an engaged, connected, and high-performing team. The successful candidate would be based in one of our Ontario offices, including London, Waterloo, Hamilton, Mississauga, Markham, Ottawa, Sudbury, or Thunder Bay.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Site Investigation and Remediation practitioners, including mentoring and supporting junior staff to develop their technical and professional skills.


• Support workload planning and balancing across the team to help align project needs, staff capacity, and opportunities for growth;


• Contribute to team growth by supporting recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention of new and existing staff;


• Lead the performance review process for individuals on your team in a supportive, constructive, and consistent manner aligned with Stantec policy.


• Lead and manage environmental site assessment, monitoring, and remediation programs, while supporting high-quality outcomes for clients and communities; and 


• Guide day-to-day project delivery through effective data management, analysis and interpretation, report preparation, proposal support, coordination, and project management activities.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Demonstrated leadership experience, including people management, staff development, performance management, workload coordination, or project leadership within a consulting environment;
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build positive relationships, support team members, and engage effectively with clients and colleagues;
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving, supported by strong organization, collaboration, and coordination skills;
• A strong commitment to health and safety, with a proactive approach to supporting safe, respectful, and responsible work practices.

Education and Experience

• Degree or diploma in a discipline related to Environmental Science and/or Engineering
• 10+ years' consulting or related experience focused on project management within the Site Investigation and Remediation industry
