Test Technician

Specific Job Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Test Technician is to perform engine installation and testing procedures for the altitude test facility. They are responsible for daily testing activities on development test engines, test sections, control systems, accessories, and components. The technician must also participate in local EH&S (Environment, Health & Safety) tasks and assist facility engineering as needed.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Work collaboratively with ATF team members to safely meet test requirements and deadlines.
  


• Install gas turbine engines on a specialized test stand and install and verify engine instrumentation.
  


• Set up data acquisition systems and calibrate pressure, temperature, and strain gauge systems.
  


• Test high-value development engines while adhering to multiple operational limits.
  


• Operate altitude facility controls to meet testing requirements.
  


• Use various hand tools, precision measurement tools, and portable test equipment, including a DVM (Digital Voltmeter) and oscilloscope.
  


• Have in-depth knowledge of complex mechanical systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical power transmission systems.
  


• Possess a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of AC and DC electrical systems.
  


• Interpret mechanical and electrical assembly drawings and assemble components to meet drawing tolerances.
  


• Demonstrate basic project management skills and the ability to manage program deliverables.
