Thermal Gas Cutting Torch Operator

Wage: $27.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience

About the Role

A Few Good Lads is looking for an experienced Thermal Gas Cutting Torch Operator to join a construction team in Vancouver.

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience using a thermal gas cutting torch and be comfortable working in an active construction environment. Safety, accuracy, and attention to detail are important for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a thermal gas cutting torch safely and effectively


• Cut and prepare metal and other materials according to job requirements


• Read measurements and follow instructions and specifications


• Inspect materials and completed work to ensure quality and accuracy


• Set up and safely handle cutting equipment, gas cylinders, and related tools


• Follow all site safety procedures and proper hot-work practices


• Maintain equipment and report any issues or defects


• Keep the work area clean and organized


• Work safely and effectively as part of a construction team

Requirements

• Previous experience using a Thermal Gas Cutting Torch


• Construction or industrial experience


• Good understanding of safe cutting and hot-work procedures


• Ability to follow instructions and work independently


• Good attention to detail


• Physically capable of performing manual labour


• Reliable and safety-focused


• Legally eligible to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

• WHMIS 2015


• CSTS 2020


• Previous experience with steel or metal fabrication


• Fall Protection certification


• Additional welding or cutting experience
