Salary range: $71,846 to $115,129 with normal starting salary between $78,872 and $85,897 annually, dependent on relevant education and experience.

Schedule:
Given on-call nature of position, schedule and frequency of instruction may vary. Typical instructional day is 6 hours long. Typical instructional week is Monday to Friday and would not exceed 30 hours. Initial on-call contract is setup until Jun 30, 2028 but is not a guarantee of work for the entire contract period. Work can be anywhere from one day to several weeks. Position location is either the Kelowna or Vernon Airport.

- Instructional duties may include any or all of the following:
- instructional (teaching assignments)
- course and program preparation and revision
- student contact
- student advising
- evaluation and marking of student work and other functions related to instruction
- Professional duties may include any or all of the following:
- curriculum development
- student registration
- pre registration duties
- Service may include any or all of the following:
- school visitations
- participation on Okanagan College (OC) committees
- attendance at articulation meetings
- representing OC at other function
- administrative and other duties
- Professional development is activity intended to promote teaching excellence, subject area competence and technical competence in the area of professional or instructional expertise.
Education and Experience
- A valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (Maintenance “M1”/“M2” rating).
- An undergraduate degree and post-secondary teaching experience are preferred; however, applicants with an equivalent combination of teaching and work experience may be considered. Aviation teaching experience would be an asset.
- An Instructor’s Diploma or valid BC Teacher’s Certificate appropriate to the instructional assignment is preferred, and will be required following appointment in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
- Six to ten years recent relevant experience in some or all of the following:
- Fixed wing maintenance experience on general aviation and/or large transport category aircraft
- Rotary maintenance experience in light, intermediate, medium or heavy helicopters.
- Aircraft structural repair experience related to sheet metal, and composites
