Job Description - Warehouse Associate

We have an immediate need for a Warehouse Associate who can work on Call Monday to Friday in Delta, BC - off of River Road in Tilbury Industrial Park.

This is a Temp to Perm role, therefore only people able to be hired full time will be considered for this position.

You must have excellent communication skills, be able to work full time hours when needed and be able to lift to 50 pounds on occasion and be trained to operate a forklift.

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail -oriented Warehouse Associate to join our client's dynamic logistics team on a Temp to Hire basis.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing inventory, operating heavy equipment, and supporting warehouse distribution operations as well as heavy lifting.

This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, safety protocols, and materials handling to ensure smooth order fulfillment and shipping & receiving processes.

Prior warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge are highly valued to contribute effectively to our operational goals.

Duties

  • Manage inventory control using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners to track stock levels accurately.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts pallet jacks, and order pickers safely in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Perform order picking, packing, and fulfillment tasks to prepare products for shipment.
  • Load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring proper handling of heavy items through materials handling techniques.
  • Assist in shipping & receiving activities, verifying shipments against orders using AS400 or similar systems.
  • Stock shelves and organize warehouse space efficiently for optimal workflow.
  • Support warehouse distribution operations by coordinating with supervisors and team members to meet production deadlines.
  • Follow safety protocols diligently during all warehouse activities to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

Experience

  • Prior experience in warehouse operations or distribution centres is preferred.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems, including AS400 or equivalent platforms.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and heavy equipment operation.
  • Experience with packaging, order fulfillment, shipping & receiving processes, and inventory control is highly desirable.
  • Previous roles involving warehouse supervision or management experience will be considered an asset.
  • This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast -paced environment where safety, efficiency, and teamwork are prioritized. Candidates should be prepared for physical activity involving heavy lifting and long periods of standing or walking throughout the warehouse facility.
