The First Year Experience (FYE) Team at SAIT is seeking two motivated and detail-oriented student assistants to support the planning and delivery of programs that help new students transition successfully into campus life. This part-time casual position offers between 15–30 hours per week, depending on operational needs, and runs from July 15 to September 30, 2026.
This role is ideal for a current SAIT student who enjoys event planning, collaboration, and creating engaging experiences for peers.
How you'll contribute
• Assist with planning and coordination of First Year Experience initiatives, with a focus on Fall 2026 New Student Orientation
• Provide on-site event support, including setup, execution, and teardown
• Ensure a positive and welcoming experience for new students
Administrative Support
• Maintain and support event scheduling and team coordination
• Assist with data entry, document preparation, and general administrative tasks
• Support communication with internal stakeholders and student volunteers
Resource & Content Development
• Support with creating and updating student-facing resources and materials
• Assist with graphic development for presentations, signage, and digital content
• Prepare print-ready files and ensure quality and accuracy of materials
Volunteer Coordination
• Support recruitment, scheduling, and communication with student volunteers
• Assist with planning and delivering volunteer training sessions
• Help coordinate volunteer logistics during programs and events
Event Materials Production
• Print, organize, and assemble materials for events (e.g., orientation packages, signage, decoration)
• Ensure all materials are prepared and available for event delivery
Qualifications
• Current SAIT student who has completed at least 9 credits
• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Comfortable adapting to changing priorities and schedules
• Experience with event planning, customer service, or student engagement is considered an asset
• Basic skills in Microsoft Office; familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe) is an asset
