Internship overview

Under the supervision of Claim manager, the Human Resources Intern primarily supports the administration of disability insurance claims. This internship provides the opportunity to develop knowledge and experience in disability management, disability insurance administration, and human resources processes.

What are your contributions to the team?


  • Performing various administrative tasks related to disability insurance claims;

  • Completing iA Financial Group forms pertaining to employees on disability leave;

  • Providing payroll coding instructions to the Payroll Department;

  • Responding to requests for information and inquiries from the insurer regarding disability cases;

  • Ensuring the accuracy and proper maintenance of data in the internal SISST management system;

  • Working closely with Biron nurses, HR Generalists, HR Business Partners, and managers involved in disability cases;

  • Completing mortgage insurance and other insurance-related forms requested by employees on disability leave;

  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all disability files are complete and up to date.


 

How to thrive in this role?


  • Are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resources Management;

  • Have knowledge of SAP or another integrated Human Resources Information System (an asset);

  • Possess advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel;

  • Are a highly motivated team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Are detail-oriented and demonstrate a high level of accuracy in your work;

  • Are organized, structured, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively;

  • Have a positive attitude and are approachable;

  • Are able to maintain strict confidentiality when required.

  • Duration: 8 months

  • Flexible workplace-Hybrid


It is important to note that our internship opportunities are open to students only, not new graduates. All our interns may be required to occasionally travel outside of Canada for training/work purpose.
