Job Description - Intern, Indigenous and Regulatory Partnerships

Job Title: Intern, Indigenous and Regulatory Partnerships 


The Indigenous and Regulatory Partnerships Intern supports Skeena’s regulatory engagement, communications, and relationship‑building activities by assisting with engagement logistics, data tracking, and administration of the Social Management System across the Eskay Creek Revitalization Project. 


Responsibilities include: 




  • Support Skeena’s efforts to build and maintain positive working relationships with the Tahltan Nation, other First Nations, regulators, and Communities of Interest by assisting with transparent communication and consistent follow‑through. 






  • Assist in creating and managing written content for Skeena’s communications and engagement initiatives, including project updates, newsletters, information packages, social media content, and key messages. 






  • Support the development and coordination of Skeena’s communications and engagement plans, schedules, and materials to align with project needs, regulatory timelines, and community perspectives.   






  • Assist with logistics and coordination for regulatory engagement activities, helping ensure Skeena meets its regulatory commitments and maintains clear, timely communication with regulators.  






  • Support planning, logistics, and delivery of engagement activities such as workshops, open houses, small‑format meetings, and online outreach, including note‑taking and facilitation support.   






  • Assist with the administrative and logistical tasks required to help Skeena implement and track commitments under Impact Benefit Agreements and other agreements with Indigenous Governments and Communities of Interest. 






  • Support the implementation of workplans related to Social Affairs and Regulatory Engagement by coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and assisting with documentation. 






  • Help research, track, and summarize feedback from Indigenous partners and Communities of Interest, and assist in preparing responses, reports, and mitigation recommendations for Skeena.  






  • Support coordination between Indigenous and Regulatory Partnerships, Social Affairs, and other Skeena departments to ensure consistent information sharing and alignment across teams. 






  • Assist with coordinating internal and external committees and providing administrative support, including helping develop Social KPIs, supporting the Social Management System, and preparing meeting materials. 






  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Skeena’s policies, standards, and procedures related to Social Performance and Engagement. 




  • All other related and general administrative duties as required 




Qualifications  




  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor degree related to social sciences, environmental science, marketing and communications, Indigenous Relations, Sustainability or other related fields.   






  • Previous experience is considered a strong asset. 






  • Proficient with MS Office and database entry 






  • Strong organizational skills 






  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, dependable, and punctual 






  • Strong oral and written communication skills 






  • Positive attitude and enjoy working with new people 






  • Professional demeanor, able to take direction and feedback 






  • Ability to travel 




Work Locations & Conditions


This is an office-based job, in Skeena’s Corporate office located in Vancouver, British Columbia on a Monday to Friday schedule. Additionally, the job is in a fast paced, and at times stressful working environment, with having to manage multiple competing priorities. Some flexibility in work location may be considered.  


Compensation 


The expected hourly range for this position is CAD $20-24/hour in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Hourly ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
