Commissionaires Nova Scotia is seeking a motivated and creative Marketing Assistant to join our People & Culture team within the Marketing & Communications function during this 8 week contract. This is an exciting opportunity for someone early in their communications or marketing career who is eager to gain hands-on experience across digital marketing, content creation, analytics, events, and community engagement.
In this role, you will support the execution of marketing and communications initiatives that enhance brand visibility, strengthen community partnerships, and promote Commissionaires Nova Scotia across the province. You will work as part of a collaborative team, contributing to meaningful campaigns, events, and projects that support both organizational goals and community impact.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Formal education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field is considered an asset, but not required.
We are particularly interested in individuals who bring creativity, curiosity, and a strong willingness to learn. Prior experience (including up to 1–3 years) in communications, marketing, social media, or event coordination is considered an asset, but not essential.
Candidates who have developed their skills through internships, academic projects, volunteer work, or self-directed learning are encouraged to apply.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
WORKING CONDITIONS
This role may require occasional travel within Nova Scotia to support events and outreach initiatives.
The position involves light physical activity such as event setup and material handling.
Work will be primarily based out of our Bedford office, with some flexibility depending on project needs.

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. As such, applicants must meet the program’s eligibility criteria, including:
**Due to the travel requirements associated with attending events, a valid Nova Scotia Class 5 (Graduated) driver’s license is required.
