Are you ready to build a hands-on career in the mechanical trades? Tłı̨chǫ Community Builders (TCB) is looking for a motivated and dependable Oil Heat System Technician (Oil Burner Mechanic) Apprentice to join our team in Behchokǫ̀.

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to gain practical experience working on residential and commercial oil heating systems. You’ll learn directly from certified technicians while working toward your Oil Heat System Technician certification over a four-year apprenticeship.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of oil heating systems


• Support routine inspections, servicing, and safety checks


• Prepare tools, materials, and equipment for daily work


• Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot system issues


• Follow safety standards, codes, and company procedures


• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment


• Participate in hands-on training and skills development


• Work as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently

What You Bring

• Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent)


• Interest in registering as an apprentice in the trade


• Mechanical aptitude or construction experience (an asset)


• Strong willingness to learn and grow in the trades


• Basic math and problem-solving skills


• Ability to read technical materials (training provided)


• Physically fit and able to handle manual work


• Good communication and teamwork skills


• Valid driver’s license (an asset)
