Safety, Health, Environment, & Sustainability Co-op Student - Winter 2027

We are seeking a Safety, Health, Environment, & Sustainability Co-op Student for a 4-month term position starting in January 2027. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience supporting corporate SHES programs, initiatives, and projects across a diverse business environment. Working alongside experienced SHES professionals, you will assist with various related activities, compliance initiatives, data management, and administrative support that contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.

• Assist with the administration and coordination of health, safety, and environmental programs.
• Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of SHES data and metrics.
• Assist with maintaining SHES documentation, records, and compliance tracking systems.
• Support incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up activities as required.
• Work on selected Sustainability and Environmental projects such as waste and landfill management, emissions tracking, and others.
• Assist with the development and updating of SHES procedures, presentations, and awareness materials.
• Participate in workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Conduct research and assist with continuous improvement projects to enhance SHES performance.
• Collaborate with team members across various departments to support organizational SHES objectives.

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong interest in workplace health, safety, and environmental management.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Comfortable engaging with employees and asking questions to learn and improve processes.
• Volunteer, or previous Co-op experience related to health, safety, or environmental initiatives is considered an asset.
