Student Conductor

Safety works with an Operations crew on the movement of railcars while switching, moving between yards, or travelling to customer facilities or interchanges;

Observe hand and radio signals in the yard in accordance with railroad rules and regulations;

Operate track switches as needed;

Perform procedures required to couple/uncouple rail cars;

Apply hand brakes on rail cars not in active use; and

Ensure proper permissions and authorities are obtained.

Minimum grade 12 diploma completion or GED equivalent;

Must be in good physical condition;

Must have a clean and valid BC driver’s license Class 5 minimum

This is a safety critical position; and

May be required to occasionally operate company vehicles.
