Your role in our team

As a Java Software Engineer in our Effectors and Engagement team, you will play a key role in shaping solutions that matter. You will contribute to design and architecture, take ownership of core components, and act as a trusted sparring partner – not just within your own team, but across disciplines.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be coding in Java, applying and promoting proven object-oriented principles such as SOLID. You will tackle large-scale, multi-threaded systems and increasingly distributed components – turning complexity into clarity.

How you will make a meaningful contribution

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Translate customer needs, system enablers, and even the trickiest bugs into elegant, maintainable code
  
  
  • Write and refine automated tests while improving code testability through smart refactoring
  
  
  • Challenge and be challenged through close collaboration with system engineers, testers, and other specialists
  
  
  • Help make your scrum team run as smoothly as possible
  
  
  • Validate your solutions in a realistic staging environment that simulates customer setups
  
  
  • Occasionally visit customers on board vessels to support real-world testing
  
  
  • Act as a subject-matter expert when scoping and planning new projects together with colleagues and customers
  
  
  
  

Bring your world class expertise into play

You are fluent in English both in writing and verbal at a professional level. Danish is an advantage but not a requirement. Moreover, we are looking for a new colleague who possesses:

  • 5+ years of professional experience across the stages of software development
  
  
  • Understanding of concurrency and modern software design
  
  
  • A collaborative, open-minded attitude
  
  
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices
  
  
  • Active security clearance to HEM is ideal but no requirement
  
  
  
  

You will thrive in this position if you enjoy working across the full development cycle – from architecture and implementation to testing and verification. You have a solid grasp of modern design principles, multithreading and concurrency, as well as designing testable code. You value collaboration and knowledge sharing, seeing code reviews as opportunities to both grow and contribute. You appreciate modern workflows like CI/CD and trunk-based development.
