Associate Global Medical Director - Obesity, GMA

The position

You will be part of a team of experienced medical doctors and scientists with clinical, academic and industry backgrounds who are motivated by drug development, medical education, evidence generation and high‑quality scientific communication. This role offers the opportunity to use your clinical experience, analytical skills and creativity to help develop and position therapies that will significantly improve outcomes for people living with obesity. You will provide timely, accurate and credible medical input in a mid-late state development project.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders (Clinical Development, Regulatory, Safety, Marketing, Market Access, and global affiliates) to shape medical strategy and ensure scientific consistency across activities.


• Engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), patient advocacy groups and healthcare professionals to drive scientific exchange and gather insights that optimize product development and patient care.


• Provide medical input to clinical trial design and protocol development, advise on investigator selection, and lead scientific dialogue at later stages based on trial results.


• Lead and contribute to publication plans and development of peer‑reviewed manuscripts, working with external authors, statisticians and medical writers.


• Develop internal and external medical guidance and educational materials to support clinical use, disease awareness and evidence‑based care.


• Support launch readiness by contributing medical perspectives to promotional, medical‑legal, and market access materials.


• Present data at internal meetings and international scientific conferences, representing the company in medical and scientific forums.


• Support the Global Medical Director with strategic and leadership activities, including cross‑functional project leadership.

Your profile

 We are looking for candidates who bring both clinical credibility and strategic medical acumen:

• Medical doctor degree with +5 years of experience in clinical medicine and/or research; PhD is an advantage but not mandatory.


• Experience in pharmaceutical industry and/or medical affairs, preferably with a focus on obesity, metabolic disease, or related comorbidities.


• Proven track record of leading cross‑functional projects in late‑stage clinical development or medical affairs, including involvement in global project teams or launch activities.


• Experience designing or interpreting real‑world evidence (RWE) studies, pragmatic trials, registries, observational research, or other non‑randomized evidence‑generation approaches is an advantage


• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to interact credibly with senior leaders, governance committees, academia and external experts.


• Excellent presentation and communication skills in professional English.


• Comfortable working in complex environments, with strong problem‑solving abilities, a results‑driven approach and a positive, collaborative mindset.
