Business Development Director

As Business Development Director, HVAC and Water, you will drive the long-term strategic development agenda for our Commercial Building Systems (CBS) division. You will lead insight-driven innovation, build a strong pipeline of future offerings, and align initiatives with our CBS 2040 Winning Aspiration across technology, sustainability, and circularity. You’ll work in an inclusive, people-first culture that supports growth, well-being, and belonging.

What you will be doing

As part of the CBS Solutions & Marketing team, you will strengthen future competitiveness by driving innovation and embedding sustainability and circularity into our offerings.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a high-performing Business Development organization, setting clear direction, success criteria, and capability-building plans


• Establish structured processes to turn market insights, technology trends, and customer needs into actionable opportunities


• Drive a cross-functional innovation pipeline, identifying and maturing new offerings in collaboration with GT&I and Product Management


• Partner with Product Management to integrate insights, sustainability, and innovation into differentiated product roadmaps


• Lead strategic initiatives and cross-divisional alignment to support the CBS 2040 Winning Aspiration


• Embed sustainability and circular design into all innovation and strategy processes, enabling new circular business models

What makes you a great fit

You are a strategic, insight-driven leader with strong experience in innovation and business development within technology-intensive industries. You combine cross-functional leadership with a passion for sustainability and commercial building systems.

We also expect:

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Engineering, Strategy, or similar


• 10+ years of experience in business development, innovation, or product strategy


• Proven ability to lead across functions and align senior stakeholders in complex organizations


• Experience driving innovation pipelines, market insight processes, or strategic programs

It is a plus if you have:

• Knowledge of HVAC, water systems, or related markets


• Strong understanding of sustainability and circularity in a commercial context


• Experience working in global matrix organizations across strategy and execution
