DSP Engineer

In this role, you will design, develop, and optimise audio signal processing algorithms for Bang & Olufsen's partner product portfolio. We are looking for a hands-on audio engineer who enjoys transforming ideas into robust, real-time DSP solutions and delivering sound experiences that reflect our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize real-time audio processing algorithms for embedded systems in next-generation consumer products


• Contribute to project planning, task estimation, and execution, with scope and ownership adjusted to experience level


• Collaborate closely with acousticians, hardware engineers, and software teams to optimize audio performance and ensure robust system integration


• Support knowledge sharing within the team and contribute to continuous improvement of tools, processes, and workflows


• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, contributing insights to the technology strategy and product introductions


• Explore, design and prototype new algorithm technologies and audio features

What you bring

We are looking for an engineer who thrives on turning audio concepts into robust DSP solutions, translating acoustic ambition into products that deliver exceptional listening experiences.

Moreover, you bring: 

• A strong passion and curiosity for audio, acoustics, and digital sound


• Experience in digital signal processing, demonstrated through professional work, academic background, or relevant projects


• Proficiency in Embedded C/C++ for real-time audio applications, with complexity and autonomy depending on experience level


• Solid understanding of real-time embedded systems, including fixed-point and floating-point arithmetic


• Experience translating prototype algorithms (e.g. MATLAB or similar tools) into efficient, production-ready code


• Understanding embedded audio systems performance, memory, and hardware constraints, complemented by a foundational grasp of multi-core and multi-threaded processing architectures


• Familiarity with modern software development practices, tools, and workflows (e.g. version control, issue tracking, Agile methodologies)


• Experience with, or willingness to grow in, areas such as testing, debugging, system integration, creating technical documentation and performance optimization


• A proactive problem solver who communicates effectively and thrives in a collaborative, cross disciplinary environment


• Curiosity and interest in innovation, including exploring new audio features, algorithms, and technologies


• Ability to take a system-level perspective on audio solutions, understanding how DSP choices impact acoustics, hardware, software, and user experience
