Group Procurement Category Manager – Packaging
Faxe, Denmark
Are you a passionate procurement and supply chain professional with deep expertise in packaging categories – and ready to play a key role in one of the most strategic functions at Royal Unibrew? As we continue our growth journey across more than 70 countries, we are looking for a high-impact category leader to join our Group Procurement team and shape the future of how we source and manage packaging at scale.
As Group Procurement Category Manager – Packaging, you will report directly to the CPO and take end-to-end ownership of category strategy, sourcing, supplier partnerships, and the value creation agenda across cans, PET/preforms, and caps. You will be a trusted sparring partner to the business – combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution – and leave a real mark on the systems and processes that power an international beverage company.
About Royal Unibrew
Royal Unibrew is a leading regional multi-beverage company with a strong portfolio of local brands enjoyed in more than 70 countries – from beloved Danish names like Faxe Kondi, Ceres, Faxe, and Egekilde to iconic international brands. Our 4,000+ colleagues are spread across markets including Finland, Norway, Sweden, Italy, France, the Baltics, and beyond, all united by a shared purpose: to be THE PREFERRED CHOICE as the local beverage partner. We thrive in teams built on trust, support, and collaboration – and we believe in freedom with responsibility.
Your Role
You will be a key player in our Group Procurement function, driving step-change improvements in category performance, cost competitiveness, supply resilience, and Royal Unibrew’s sustainability ambitions.
You will:
- Own and deliver financial and operational KPIs across the primary packaging categories.
- Define and execute multi-year, group-wide category strategies for cans, PET/preforms, and closures in close collaboration with market teams and key stakeholders.
- Act as a category leader across the group, driving consistency in sourcing, contract management, and category management processes while elevating procurement maturity.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of key input commodities (e.g. aluminium and resin markets such as PET/HDPE), translating market insights into actionable sourcing strategies.
- Engage across the full value chain – including upstream suppliers – to identify opportunities for cost optimisation, innovation, and supply risk mitigation.
- Ensure strong alignment with market leadership to maintain a fit-for-purpose and future-ready supplier network that supports business growth.
- Champion procurement excellence initiatives, evolving the playbook and increasing the adoption of digital tools to enhance efficiency, analytics, and decision-making.
What We Are Looking For
You bring solid hands-on experience in strategic procurement and supply chain – and you thrive when you can combine technical depth with a business-oriented mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree; CIPS or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum 7 years of procurement experience within primary packaging categories in an international or matrix organisation; experience in CPg, food, or beverage is strongly preferred.
- Strong commodity management expertise, including a solid understanding of aluminium and resin markets (e.g. PET, HDPE) and their impact on packaging cost structures.
- Strong analytical capabilities, including experience with should-cost modelling and commodity-linked negotiations.
- Solid risk management mindset with a focus on building resilient supply chains.
- Experience in project and change management, with a track record of successfully implementing and embedding change.
- Fluency in English – written and spoken; Danish is an advantage.
What We Offer
A career with Royal Unibrew is more than a job – it is a chance to leave a real mark on the sourcing strategies and supplier relationships that power an international beverage company.
- A key role in an ambitious Group Procurement organisation with a strategic hub at our HQ in Faxe.
- Freedom with responsibility – we trust you to own your category domain and drive improvements.
- A collaborative team culture that quickly turns ideas into action.
- Strong conditions for professional and personal development.
- Great beverages throughout the day – yes, including cold Faxe Kondi.
