Laboratory Technician, Research

Are you passionate about science, skilled in an organic chemistry , and motivated to take initiative? We’re seeking a proactive, technically experienced Lab Technician with experience in organic synthesis to join our R&D team at Novo Nordisk Pharmatech (NNPR) in Køge, Denmark. In this role you will apply strong analytical thinking, technical know-how and synthetic skills to support research activities, interpret experimental data, and help optimize laboratory methods and outcomes.

Your new role

As a Laboratory Technician (Research) you will play a hands‑on role across synthetic and analytical workstreams, executing experiments, operating instruments and turning data into actionable insights. You will work closely with rotating scientists across projects, take ownership of method improvements and troubleshooting, and ensure reliable experimental design and equipment performance in a dynamic lab environment.

Some of your responsibilities will be:

• Perform hands‑on laboratory work including organic synthesis (reaction setup, work‑up, purification, characterization) and routine analytical assays.


• Operate, calibrate and maintain analytical instruments (e.g., HPLC, ÅCTAs, spectrophotometers, balances), ensuring uptime and accurate results.


• Support method development and optimization for both synthetic procedures and analytical assays, proposing technical improvements.


• Proactively diagnose issues, lead troubleshooting and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime and improve lab efficiency.

Your Skills and Qualifications

• Laboratory technician qualification (or equivalent) with 3+ years’ hands‑on experience in a chemistry lab, including practical work in organic synthesis.


• Proven experience operating, calibrating and maintaining analytical instruments (e.g., HPLC, ÅCTA, spectrophotometers, balances).


• Strong experience in routine analytical techniques and method development/optimization for both synthetic and analytical assays.


• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills with a track record of diagnosing instrument issues and implementing corrective actions to minimise downtime.


• Experience working in dynamic lab environments with rotating project teams; adaptable to changing priorities and tasks.

You are a proactive, curious team player who brings order to complex situations and enjoys hands‑on problem solving. You communicate clearly with different stakeholders, adapt quickly to new collaborators and tasks, and take ownership of experiments and equipment. Methodical and detail‑oriented, you combine scientific rigor with a practical, solutions‑focused mindset and a willingness to learn.

Your new department

As scientist in R&D Research you will be part of the innovation of new products. The department consist of 20 highly motivated and skilled scientists and laboratory technicians, divided into two teams. Our research team is dedicated to pioneering and advancing products specifically designed for resin applications.
