You will join the Data Management & Governance team of 12 colleagues within Enterprise Data Excellence, where our mission is to unlock the full potential of data at an enterprise level. We are responsible for data management and governance across DSV as a global corporation. Here, you will lead our Data Governance team, which currently consists of 1 governance specialist.

Lead and establish data governance as a function

In this role, you will be accountable for establishing data governance as a function and ensuring governance across data disciplines and business functions.

An important aspect of this role is to a lead cross-functional governance team in a matrix organization, define roles/KPIs, and foster a high-performing, collaborative culture. This also entails allocating resources, managing workloads, and coordinating third-party support – as well as coaching team members, conducting reviews, and driving upskilling through training, tools, and certifications.

Collaborating closely with the Enterprise Data Management Team to ensure alignment across data ownership, quality, and usage, you will engage stakeholders and lead change management as you promote a data-first culture, drive change initiatives, and secure governance buy-in from executives.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

• Governance blueprint, KPI & SLA Management, rules, and quality management.


• Creating and owning the standards and definitions on governance frameworks and ensuring they are implemented across data management disciplines.


• Creating and executing on the audit framework enabling audit cadence on compliance across data management disciplines and functions.


• Defining and embedding governance policies and standards into enterprise data workflows and projects.


• Delivering training, driving adoption, and onboarding stakeholders in governance practices.


• Tracking governance KPIs, assessing maturity levels, and driving continuous improvement through data insights.

Solid experience in data governance, data management, or information architecture roles

We are looking for a leader who can drive governance initiatives across a complex global organisation while building strong relationships and creating alignment, influencing a wide array of stakeholders across diverse teams and cultures. Operating at both executive and operational levels, you adapt communication and leadership style accordingly, and you know when to stand your ground and navigate challenging discussions constructively. Also, as a manager, you take a coaching approach, focusing on team development and performance.

Finally, we imagine that you:

• Have solid experience in data governance, data management, or information architecture roles.


• Have proven ability to lead data governance initiatives across complex organisations.


• Possess a strong understanding of metadata, reference data, data quality, and master data management.


• Are familiar with data cataloguing tools and enterprise data platforms.


• Have experience working with business and IT teams in federated or hybrid data governance models.
