About the role

The role of Senior Platform Engineer at AutoProff offers a stimulating career through the evolving digital landscape, characterized by strategic planning, solution architecture, and effective production observability.

This position encompasses a diverse weekly agenda that not only includes technical challenges but also team collaboration and achievements. As a central figure within the engineering department, you will actively engage with various teams and squads, providing essential support, guidance, and feedback.

Your role is crucial in leveraging this feedback to enhance platform products and services, ensuring they are optimally designed and fine-tuned to meet the specific needs of the squads. By fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, you will help propel the organization towards achieving excellence in its technological endeavors.

Let's dive into your key responsibilities, you will

• Oversee the reliability and operational performance of products within your domain, driving continuous improvement and innovation


• Collaborate with various teams to accelerate problem resolution and promote a culture of rapid and effective response


• Develop and enhance tools and frameworks that simplify software development processes and increase team productivity


• Provide mentorship and support to peers, fostering a supportive and engaging team environment

The need-to-have skills

• Platform Engineering and Developer Experience (DevEx) Enablement: Demonstrated ability in enhancing the Developer Experience by deploying effective tooling and platform products that empower development teams, aligned with best practices in platform engineering.


• Guidance in Advanced Architectural Patterns: Proven capability in supporting development teams with platform products, services, cloud-native and serverless solutions.


• Infrastructure as Code: Extensive experience in Infrastructure as Code and Continuous Delivery with mandatory proficiency in Terraform and a strong preference for knowledge of AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK).


• AWS Cloud Services Proficiency: In-depth expertise in AWS cloud services, demonstrating robust skills in platform engineering and the strategic application of design patterns.


• Core IaaS Components Knowledge: Solid understanding of fundamental IaaS components, including compute, storage, and networking, ensuring a robust infrastructure setup.


• CI/CD Implementation Skills: Proficient in deploying CI/CD solutions, ideally with GitHub Actions.

The nice-to-have skills

• Advanced Architecture Concepts: Experience in supporting teams implementing microservices architecture, event-sourcing communication, and data platform.


• Observability Skills: Experience with observability tools such as New Relic, enhancing capability to oversee and optimize platform performance.
