Job Description - Senior Element Designer, Textile Design - LEGO DESiGN

Job Description

Looking for an opportunity to bring your concept and creative abilities to the table and help the LEGO Group deliver innovative textile elements into our toys?

In the LEGO® system, everything starts with a single element. Become one of our key designers bringing your outstanding concept, 2D and 3D design skills to develop the next textile elements for our beloved LEGO System.

Bring your passion for innovation to help us deliver tactile play experiences that inspire the builders of tomorrow!

Core Responsibilities

  • Drive the design of LEGO textile elements from concept sketches to final production-ready solutions, delivering high-quality, feasible elements within clear timelines.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Model, Graphic Design, Procurement and other internal experts to ensure elements meet LEGO Group performance, quality and compliance standards across design, engineering and manufacturing.
  • Serve as a role model for proactivity, collaboration, thought leadership, and excellence in design execution.
  • Focus on innovation, LEGO system-in-play principles, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Share knowledge and experiences with colleagues to foster continuous learning and improvement.
  • Contribute to the Textile Design strategic roadmap, innovation initiatives, and the evolution of the LEGO Design DNA, balancing short-term delivery with long-term objectives.
  • Communicate portfolio insights, progress updates, and status reports to ensure transparency, alignment, and informed decision-making.
  • Own the creation of technical documentation and specifications, enabling successful mass production of textile elements.

Play your part in our team succeeding

The LEGO Design Organization is a dynamic, creative and highly collaborative environment, where no two projects are alike and a broad range of expertise comes together to create inspiring play experiences.

Within this organization, the Textile Design Team drives the development of innovative, high-quality fabric and foil elements — such as capes, sails and dragon wings — that bring LEGO® play to life.

Covering the entire textile value chain from early concept to launch, the team delivers tangible innovation through the creation of approximately 100 new LEGO® textile elements each year.

Operating at the intersection of design for aesthetics, design for play and design for manufacturing, the team plays a pivotal role in shaping future LEGO experiences. Here success is always a team sport!

Do you have what it takes?

We imagine that you hold an educational background in Fine Arts, Design, Engineering, Industrial Design or a similar field, combined with proven experience in product design and leading design processes. In addition, you bring:

  • Strong experience with 2D and 3D design tools such as Illustrator, Rhino, NX or similar
  • A good understanding of textile materials and their application in product design
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured, methodical approach
  • Ability to communicate ideas through hand sketching and, ideally, physical hand modelling
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions

It will be considered an advantage if you:

  • Have an understanding of play from a child’s perspective
  • Thrive in a corporate and cross-functional environment
  • Are comfortable planning your own time and documenting progress

Please share in English your CV, motivational letter, and portfolio. It is required to upload a portfolio (maximum upload size per file is 2 MB) or to share a link clearly highlighted in the CV.
