Senior Finance Business Partner

To expand our commercial business finance capabilities, we are seeking a skilled professional to serve as Finance Business Partner for a business unit in Denmark. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the Business Unit Head and leadership team, helping to translate strategy into insights, business decisions, and actions. You will contribute to performance improvement and support a culture built on collaboration.

As part of our finance organization of approximately 200 employees, you will contribute to ensuring a solid financial foundation for COWI while supporting our strategic objectives. The role reports to the SVP, Head of Business Finance Denmark, and your place of work will be at either our Lyngby or Aarhus office.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Partner with the Business Unit Head and business leaders to identify opportunities for growth, profitability improvements, and operational efficiency.


• Lead P&L management for the Business Unit, determine financial targets, evaluate progress, and make timely adjustments to stay on track.


• Oversee financial performance reviews and financial planning processes, ensuring transparency around key business drivers, risks, and opportunities.


• Support and advance the strategic initiatives and transformation programs, helping to translate business objectives into measurable outcomes.


• Work closely with Finance Project Partners and Controllers to ensure robust project governance, financial controls, and compliance while balancing commercial objectives.


• Support decision-making through data-driven analysis, commercial insights, and clear recommendations.


• Contribute to the Business Unit leadership team and the Business Finance Denmark leadership team as a valued member.

On top of that, you will have:

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.


• At least 6 years of experience within business finance, FP&A, strategy, project management, or commercial leadership roles.


• Experience working with senior stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.


• Solid commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into business insights and actions.


• Experience managing cross-functional initiatives and complex stakeholder environments.


• A spirit of collaboration, a high standard of ethics, and the ability to propose new ways of working when needed.
