Civil Discipline Engineer

to join our global engineering team and contribute to both proposal and project execution phases. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating civil discipline engineering and design activities, civil equipment and building service suppliers as well as civil structure manufacturers for ensuring high-quality, safe, and compliant solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

This position plays a key role in proposal phases including quantity and cost estimation and preparation of civil structure and building service concepts and project phases including layout coordination, interface engineering and multidisciplinary collaboration across engineering, project management, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

The position will be based in one of the following SFW office locations: Varkaus or Espoo in Finland or Sosnowiec in Poland.

Key Responsibilities
•    Be responsible for civil discipline engineering management and coordination in proposals and projects
•    Manage and coordinate own and/or subcontracted civil engineering and design resources including quality of strength calculations
•    Manage and coordinate engineering and design for silos, industrial stacks and other structures under EN 1090-2
•    Manage and coordinate suppliers of civil equipment and services as well as civil structure manufacturers
•    Provide engineering support to construction sites
•    Prepare technical packages for procurement and participate in procurement meetings at civil area
•    Supervise, manage, and control civil engineering and design tasks and deliverables
•    Monitor engineering schedules, progress, and workplans
•    Prepare change requests and impact analyses related to engineering scope, quantities, schedules, and manhours
•    Be responsible for discipline quantities, forecasting, and updates
•    Arrange and participate in design reviews, prepare meeting memos, and sign discipline quality control tasks as completed
•    Prepare or check civil structure and equipment concepts such as: 
o    Building concept including foundation, steel structure and envelope
o    Building equipment concept including HVAC, elevator, hoists, fire-fighting etc. building services
•    Participate in layout reviews and ensure correct implementation of building concepts
•    Occasional traveling to meetings with client, suppliers, SFW offices, etc.
•    Manage interfaces between civil engineering, other disciplines, project management, procurement, construction, commissioning, and the customer

Qualifications & Competence Profile
•    Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
•    Fluent communication in English
•    Experience in industrial plant projects and international work environment
•    Strong understanding of civil and steel structure engineering, building services and multidisciplinary interfaces
•    Experience within foundation area is an advantage
•    Ability to manage engineering schedules, quantities, subcontracted engineering, suppliers, and manufacturers
•    Experience in engineering reviews, quality control, and change management
