Job Description - Financial Performance Analyst

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW


 


We’re looking for a talented Financial Performance Analyst to join our Finance team, supporting our Capital Delivery and Chief Engineer functions. This is a 12 month FTC.


 


In this role, you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to provide valuable financial insights, helping shape decisions and drive performance across the business. You’ll play a key part in ensuring we stay on track with both in-year targets and long-term AMP plans, offering constructive challenge and identifying opportunities for improvement.


 


What you’ll be doing


 



  • Deliver clear, insightful financial analysis and reporting on monthly, annual and AMP performance

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify risks, opportunities and actions to improve performance

  • Support planning, budgeting and forecasting for opex and headcount, ensuring plans are robust and achievable

  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership, translating complex data into clear messages

  • Lead and support month-end processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery

  • Provide ad hoc modelling and analysis to support business decisions

  • Drive continuous improvement across financial processes and reporting

  • Support and develop a Finance Graduate, helping build capability within the team


 


 


HOW WE WORK


 


You'll be based at our Severn Trent Centre in Coventry. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week.

What we’re looking for


 



  • Significant experience in a finance role with strong analytical capability

  • Ability to turn data into meaningful insight and influence decision-making

  • Confidence in communicating with and challenging senior stakeholders

  • Strong relationship-building skills across a range of teams

  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting

  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

  • Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel

  • Commercial awareness and sound financial judgement

Qualifications


 



  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
