Job Description - Market Development Manager - Energy Segment

Your role and responsibilities


In this role, you will lead the Energy Segment within the Market Development team in ABB Marine Propulsion from a global perspective. You will build and maintain long-term relationships with customer stakeholders, open doors to new opportunities and drive the segment specific market development. The ideal candidate combines a holistic understanding of sales activities and processes in maritime industry within propulsion sales, a deep segment knowledge with a sharp commercial mindset, capable of structuring competitive yet profitable proposals and navigating complex requirements.

Job reporting to: Head of Market Development


You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Developing and maintaining the Energy Segment for ABB Marine Propulsion.

  • Build long-term relationships with ship owners, designers, and consultants to promote ABB Marine propulsion solutions within the segment.

  • Identifying and driving the development of market and sales opportunities.

  • Developing and executing sound sales strategies for the segment that expands our client base and extends global reach.

  • Stay tuned about market trends providing optimal solutions and incorporating client feedback for continuous improvement, including also representing ABB in trade events.

  • Managing administrative procedures in sales processes.

Qualifications for the role

  • 5 + years of experience within sales maritime industry.
    Ideally, should have a personal network. Maritime.
    We value knowledge and experience in propulsion systems.

  • Degree in engineering / mechanical engineering.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build and execute a sales / marketing strategy.

  • Eager to increase our market share and grow revenue.

  • Ability to travel internationally.
