Finnair Cargo is a modern air cargo carrier offering fast, high-quality transport between Asia, Europe and North America, through its Helsinki hub. Finnair Cargo specializes in temperature-controlled cargo, such as pharmaceuticals, seafood and other perishables. The operations at its state-of-the-art COOL Nordic Cargo Hub at Helsinki Airport are designed using modern technology and data monitoring systems to radically improve transparency and efficiency of air cargo shipping. We are now looking for a
SPECIALIST, CARGO COMPETENCE DEVELOPMENT
to join our team!
Specialist, Cargo Competence Development is responsible for developing and maintaining Finnair Cargo competences according to industry standards, regulations and company manuals.
In this role you will participate in incident report handling and assisting on self-monitoring etc. safety, security, compliance and quality related activities. You will also be responsible for compliance, safety and security of the competence development & trainings.
This is a fixed-term position starting as soon as possible and lasting until the end of January 2027.
In this role, you will:
Initiate and develop practical arrangements and gather feedback of trainings and training methods as well as update relevant documentation e.g. manuals and instructions in co-operation with cargo business units and in alignment of applicable regulations and industry standards.
Define initial and recurrent training demands for roles within Finnair Cargo.
Coordinate, maintain and develop trainings and training materials used together with key stakeholders and trainers.
Be responsible for digital development of the training methods.
Create, update and implement annual training calendar and plan in co-operations with internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with all relevant internal and external stakeholders at Finnair Cargo. You will also participate on other needed industry working groups.
Be responsible for handling, analysis and investigations related to incident reports according to CAPA process and conducting self-monitoring inspections according to Cargo Quality Manual and initiation of safety & security promotion.
Monitor incident reporting & root cause trends for further competence development and continuous improvement.
From you, we wish:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in cargo related operations.
Good aviation experience, specialized in air freight and Cargo processes.
Knowledge and experience in operative processes, compliance, safety and security in relation to Cargo operations.
Understanding of Cargo training dependencies in aviation business and ability to link competence to flight safety and safety management system.
Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent
Excellent English, both written and spoken. Fluency in Finnish is seen as an asset.
