Breakfast Host Internship (with Bar & Event tasks)

At CheapSleep Hostel we are currently offering internship opportunities in the position of Breakfast Host trainee (with Bar & Event tasks) starting in March 2026.

As one of our trainees, you will have the chance to work in an international team of young professionals and help create a delicious continental breakfast buffet for our guests from all around the world. You will be providing our guests with a variety of options, so they can indulge in a satisfying meal before exploring the city.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to work some evening shifts alongside our receptionist and help them run the bar, host hostel events and help the reception with other small tasks around the hostel.

What will you be doing? 

As a Breakfast Host trainee (with Bar and Event tasks), you would be responsible for setting up and maintaining our breakfast buffet, as well as assisting guests with any inquiries they may have. You will also be responsible for working some shifts at the bar and hosting hostel events. 

Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks:

• Setting up the breakfast buffet
• Preparing & serving all food items
• Refilling the breakfast buffet
• Helping guests with special dietary requirements
• Keeping the breakfast buffet and seating area clean & tidy
• Complying with all health & safety regulations
• Cleaning dishes, buffet area, kitchen equipment & kitchen area
• Purchasing food items
• Sorting & organising food items in the storage areas
• Welcoming guests & assisting guests with their inquiries.
• Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at the hostel bar.
• Preparing and hosting Hostel events.
• Helping the reception with small tasks around the hostel during Bar & Event shifts.

What do we require from you?:

• You are a student who will gain academic credits for the internship.
• You are a student looking to complete an internship for a minimum of 3 months.
• You have a good level of spoken English language skills.
• You are willing to work early in the morning during weekdays and weekends (6am - 12pm).
• You are willing to work evening shifts during weekdays and weekends (4pm - 12am).
• You have the Finnish Hygiene Passport. Note: This can be obtained during the internship for applicants from outside of Finland.
• You are a responsible, proactive, flexible person with problem solving skills.
• You are a social, outgoing and talkative person with a passion for the hostel and food industry.
