What kind of summer job awaits you?

Do you want to contribute to accelerating sustainable development in a large forest industry group? Are you interested in data and science based approach? The position is located in Metsä Group's Stakeholder Engagement unit, which supports the group's business operations throughout the entire value chain, from forest management to production and end products. The unit includes people working with corporate responsibility, advocacy and communications. This summer job is focused on tasks related to corporate responsibility and developing and implementing of the strategic goals and data-based communication.

You will have the opportunity to support the team in various projects during the summer. Building resilience in a changing climate requires a strategic approach that links climate, nature and circularity. Your tasks will include collection and analyzing of sustainability data, supporting in life cycle analysis and writing background reports and interacting with various stakeholders within and outside of the group, for example.

What are we expecting of you?

Our team is innovative, dynamic and ambitious . We are looking for a team player with an analytical and creative mindset who is inspired by sustainable development and learning and developing new approaches. We also appreciate capabilities to manage projects and deliver results in planned timeframes. It is an advantage if you excel in using Windows tools (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and have some experience in using databases such as Ecoinvent or GaBi.

We wish that you will be able to work with us for a fixed term of five months, for example between May and September or April and August, and that you have already progressed to the master's degree stage in your university studies.

Studies in areas such as engineering, sustainable development, business and environmental sciences are useful. We also value work experience in sustainable development projects and data processing and modelling. Fluent written and spoken English is a prerequisite in this summer job. At Metsä Group employees can work remotely for an average of two days per week, with at least three in-office days maintained on average.
