We are now looking for a Trainee, Financial Control to join our Plywood finance team.

About the role 

This trainee position offers a unique opportunity to strengthen UPM Plywood’s organization and support the development of future business models. As a Trainee, Financial Controller, you will be part of a skilled finance team and gain hands-on experience in accounting, management accounting and taxation. You will work closely with experienced colleagues, contribute to real business tasks. Your contribution will also play a role in building a standalone business model for future Plywood operations. 

What you will do 

In this role, you will deliver compliant, accurate and efficient accounting and reporting services for Plywood. Your responsibilities include:

• Performing daily accounting and reporting activities
• Supporting monthly reporting and internal control processes
• Participating in statutory reporting (VAT & Intrastat) and statistical reporting
• Contributing to testing activities during financial system implementations
• Supporting audit processes and related documentation

Who you are 

• You have Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance, or studies in the final stages, with 1–3 years of relevant experience
• You have some experience in finance or accounting, with a basic understanding of general ledger processes
• You have experience or knowledge in FAS and IFRS accounting principles, taxation and master data (finance, customer, and supplier data) is considered a strong asset
• Experience with SAP (R/3 or S/4) skills are considered a strong asset
• You are flexible, solution-oriented and adaptable to changing situations – a strong team player
• You have good communication skills
• You have good Excel skills and strong command of other Microsoft Office tools
• You are fluent in Finnish and English, additional language skills are an advantage
