Head of Studio

Reporting to the Chief Creative Officer, Paris, with a dotted line to Global Head of Operations, London, ensuring alignment on global processes and standards

The Head of Studio acts under the direction of the Chief Creative Officer, Paris, to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Paris studio, working closely with the Global Head of Operations, London, and the Head of VFX, Paris, to keep local practice aligned with global standards.

The Head of Studio has full decision making authority on matters internal to the Paris studio, and is expected to act independently within that scope. Any decision that could affect a global operating system, process, or policy shared across sites must be raised with the CCO-Paris and/or Global Head of Operations ahead of implementation. This role will play a key role in driving studio growth and building a strong collaborative and high performing culture.

• Oversee the Paris management committee - chairing meetings, acting as a sounding board and implementing local initiatives to ensure continuous improvement, escalating to the CCO in the first instance, and to the GHO and Chief People Officer (CPO) where matters concern global policy.
• Progress into formal management represenation at CSE meetings. Ensuring a positive working relationship with CSE members and working with the CPO and Paris People Manager to drive forward agenda items.
• Line management of the Paris Studio and Culture Manager and Operations Coordinator supporting the team to ensure the Paris studio is fully serviced.
• Take ownership of Studio Facilities, Health & Safety, and legal compliance, ensuring the studio operates in line with regulatory requirements and best practice at all times.
• Act as the Artist Manager for a small number of Paris based artists.
• Work alongside the CCO where necessary to maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
• Help raise the profile of OOU in Paris; hosting internal events and attending external events and networking opportunities.
• Work with the recruitment team and Global Head of Resourcing to proactively promote vacancies and maintain strong connections with candidates to support overall studio growth.
• Execute the studio's agreed headcount and hiring plan, working with the CPO and CCO, Paris on local implementation of hiring, re-hiring, and career progression initiatives.
• Act as a key local partner to the CPO, taking direction from the Company People Strategy. Own and drive close collaboration with the Paris People Manager and Studio and Culture Manager, ensuring alignment and consistent execution of People initiatives at a studio level.
• Partner closely with the Head of VFX, Paris, with shared accountability for raising and resolving concerns as they arise. Recognising that creative and operational priorities are rarely fully separable, and that the strongest outcomes come from working through that overlap together.

Experience Needed

• Previous experience in the VFX Industry is essential.
• Strong employment law and contract knowledge.
• Previous line management and understanding of how to motivate and support teams is essential.

Hours and location

Our core hours are 9:30am to 18:30pm, or 10:00am to 19:00 pm Monday to Friday. We have a great office in the 20th arrondissement, where our artists are based.

You would be required to work from the office in Paris at least 4 days per week.
