Dioxycle is pioneering breakthrough carbon utilization technologies that convert industrial emissions into sustainable chemicals with unprecedented energy and cost efficiency. By displacing fossil fuels for the production of key chemicals, Dioxycle has the potential to ultimately reduce over 800 million tons of CO2 per year, representing over 2% of the world's emissions.
At the core of our process is a novel "carbon electrolyzer", a machine capable of using just electricity and water to convert carbon emissions back into valuable everyday essential chemicals. Our team is innovating across chemical, mechanical and system engineering to turn carbon transformation into an economically feasible, industrial reality through this completely novel technological approach. Having completed our industrial-scale electrolyzer prototype, we are now working with our chemical and downstream offtakers towards First-of-a-kind plant deployment and subsequent commercial roll-out.

Your Mission
Dioxycle is hiring a Junior Test Bench Engineer to take care of our electrolysis test benches and prototypes. As a Junior Test Bench Engineer, you will have a key hands-on role designing, assembling, and troubleshooting automated test benches. You will apply mechanical, electrical, and software skills in your every day work, contributing to continued improvement and operation of our extensive electrolyzer test systems. You will implement different regulation loops for pressure, temperature, flow, etc, and, more generally, contribute to the definition of the automation strategy.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, construction and improvement of end-to-end test benches, including the mechanical, electrical, software and process parts
- Troubleshooting and maintenance of the test benches, including instrumentation and controls
- Design of the electrolysis sub-systems using thermal and fluid calculations
- Testing and validation of the sub-systems through the implementation of test protocols
- Implementation and tuning of PID controllers
- Writing of documentation
- Benchmark suppliers and contact them
- Maintain inventory and improve the inventory system
We are looking for a pragmatic, hands-on, and versatile Test Bench Engineer who is dedicated to advancing our mission and possesses the skills outlined below.
Abilities and expertise we are looking for
- Having experience in combustion engine/fuel cell/ electrolyzer-based systems
- Mechanical gas and liquid management system building experience, including knowledge of relevant fitting types
- Experience with sensors and actuators for measurement and control of gases and liquids
- Realization of a heat balance
- Calculation of a pressure drop in a fluid line
- Coding of automation sequences in Python or C++ is a plus
- Experience using CAD programs is a plus
- Professional English as it is our daily work language

- Call with your future manager, Peter, Head of Systems (30 mins)
- Technical deepdive interview/case study with Peter, Head of Systems (1 hour)
- Onsite interview including Cofounder interview & opportunity to tour our technology & meet the wider team (2-3 hours)
- A series of reference calls with provided contacts
