JOB PURPOSE

Based on the activities assigned by his or her superiors, the welding mechanic carries out welding work on metal assemblies or sub-assemblies.
The welding mechanic carries out workshop work on equipment.

Job Description

SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES

Boilermaking

- Search for technical solutions to access repairs
- Carry out the various preparation operations (rolling, tracing, cutting and drilling)
- Manufacture and produce sheet metal parts
- Assemble and weld sheet metal components, based on quality requirements (assembly templates, instruction sheets, etc.)
- Check and carry out dimensional and appearance checks on sheet metal parts

Welding

- Identify appropriate materials and welds based on documentation
- Assemble metal parts using various welding processes based on procedures
- Check and control welding conformity

Mechanical engineering

- Carry out workshop work on equipment (diagnostics, repairs, assembly, reconditioning, etc.), based on technical documentation, under the supervision of your line manager
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment (overhauls, etc.) based on maintenance plans and operating procedures
- Understand and use technical documentation (manuals, etc.)
- Identify and order the parts needed for the work
- Provide technical advice to workshop participants
- Complete the various business documents and tools relating to operations (reports, etc.). hours worked, logbooks, etc.)
- Report daily on activities to line management (alerts, tasks carried out, etc.)

- Ensure the quality and conformity of boilermaking and welding work carried out
- Guarantees the quality and conformity of the mechanical work carried out
- Ensures the conformity of the workstation and tools provided
- Adheres to standard times
- Know and apply internal and external compliance procedures and rules
- Know and strictly apply health and safety rules (personal protective equipment, procedures, etc.)
- Know and strictly apply environmental rules (sorting, anti-contamination, etc.)

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE

Diploma(s) and/or experience(s)

Vocational baccalaureate level in maintenance, mechanics or electrical engineering and/or significant experience desirable
