About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated, curious and structured intern to join the Application Portfolio & Standards team within Sonepar Digital, in the Enterprise Applications & Architecture (EAA) department.

Today, Group investments are approved through the RFA (Request For Approval) process, which only starts once a demand is already valued in euros. What happens before (qualifying the need, checking that an equivalent application does not already exist, assessing cyber, personal data and EU AI Act risks) and after (tracking the benefits actually delivered) is not governed.

Sonepar is therefore building a Group-wide Demand Management process and tool, covering the full lifecycle of a demand, from the business need to the realised benefits, across all regions and countries. The specification will be signed at the end of 2026, with a pilot in one region in H1 2027 and a Group go-live in mid-2027.

Your internship takes place exactly during this key phase. You will join the Demand Manager to turn the process from design into operational reality, working closely with:

• Sonepar Digital (Group IT), including Enterprise Architecture and the Application Portfolio team
• Finance, Legal, Cybersecurity and Procurement, who validate the demands
• Regional and local IT teams (Americas, Europe, APAC) who will use the process

You will be tutored by the Application Portfolio & Standards Lead, owner of the Demand Management process, and coached day-to-day by the Demand Manager.

 Your Missions: 

Pilot & Tool Testing

• Prepare test scenarios based on the functional specification (journeys by role, validation workflows, notification rules).
• Take part in user acceptance testing and track defects and change requests.
• Collect and analyse feedback from the pilot region and propose improvements.

Change Management & Adoption

• Design the adoption kit: one-page guide and decision tree for each role (initiator, validator, approver), training materials, FAQ.
• Help organise training sessions in the countries, a prerequisite for each go-live.
• Track training completion and adoption by country.

Demand Pipeline Migration

• Prepare the loading of budgeted projects into the tool, to give a full view of the pipeline from the first month.
• Contribute to the migration of in-flight RFA demands at cutover.
• Check the quality of the migrated data, including the link with the LeanIX application portfolio.

Templates & Documentation

• Collect, harmonise and put under version control the Group templates (Standard Investment Template, Project Card, Project Charter, Project Presentation).
• Maintain the process documentation and business rules.

Governance Committees Support

• Prepare the decision packs for the committees (Advisory, Steering, Portfolio Committee).
• Write the minutes and follow up on actions and decisions.

Reporting & KPIs

• Build the monthly demand pipeline reporting in Power BI.
• Set up the process performance indicators: lead time by level, return rate by gate, compliance with validation deadlines, share of Fast-Track demands.

Optional: Tool Configuration

• Depending on the solution selected (in-house development or SaaS), take part in configuring the tool: workflows, forms, roles and permissions, notifications, dashboards.

⭐ Skills: The Toolbox You Bring

• Final-year Master’s student in Engineering, Business, or IT Management.
• You have a perfect command of French and English, both spoken and written.
• Strong interest in IT governance, project portfolio management and digital transformation.
• Very good command of Excel; first experience with Power BI is a real plus.
• Strong writing skills: able to make a complex process simple and clear.
• Knowledge of business processes, workflows or no-code / low-code tools is appreciated, especially for the optional tool configuration.
• Rigorous and well organised, comfortable with a wide range of stakeholders (IT, Finance, Legal, business) in an international context.
• Can-do attitude: curious, autonomous, proactive and delivery-oriented.
