ESG Data Analysis and Modelling Internship

The Group Sustainability department is composed of three entities:

• Sustainable Investment

• Sustainable Insurance

• Corporate Sustainability

The Sustainable Investment team is responsible for defining the sustainable investment policy to be implemented in the management of SCOR’s invested asset portfolio. As an institutional investor, SCOR is committed to playing its role in contributing to the well-being and resilience of society, notably by preserving natural capital.

The internship will take place within the Sustainable Investment department, contributing to ESG data analysis and modelling work.

The goal is to contribute to the creation of new ESG data measurement tools and the improvement of existing tools.

Responsibilities:

In particular, the intern will be responsible for contributing to the collection and processing of ESG data, and then modelling this data to support the department’s studies. These activities aim to improve and automate existing Excel processes, as well as to create new automated processes.

The topics addressed by the intern vary depending on the period. For example, they may include studies on carbon and biodiversity footprints or risks related to climate or nature.

Qualifications:

Required experience & competencies

• Proficiency in Excel and at least one programming language (ideally Python, VBA, SQL) is required for this internship. In an academic and/or professional context, you have already analysed and modelled data based on large datasets using Excel.

• You are fluent in English and/or French.

• You have an interest in environmental topics.

• Autonomy, creativity, rigour, ingenuity, intellectual curiosity, initiative, and strong interpersonal skills are key qualities for this role.

Required Education 

• With a background in engineering school or a postgraduate university degree, you are looking to complete your studies with a gap-year or final internship.
