3D Print Lead

We’re looking for a 3D Print Lead who will play a pivotal role in the future of our company. Our 3D Print Lead will be responsible for managing and scaling our additive manufacturing operations, ensuring reliable, high-throughput production of drone components and prototypes across our print farm infrastructure. You’ll work closely with production, engineering, and operations teams to optimize manufacturing workflows, maintain equipment reliability, and drive consistent print quality at scale. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced production environments and enjoys combining hands-on technical problem-solving with operational ownership.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Operate in a dynamic production environment with evolving manufacturing priorities, balancing rapid iteration with scalable and repeatable processes


• Manage and optimize a 24/7 print farm operation, maximizing machine uptime, throughput, and utilization across FDM and SLS printing systems


• Own and refine mass-production slicing strategies to ensure print consistency, speed, dimensional accuracy, and production efficiency at scale


• Monitor and maintain print farm hardware, performing rapid troubleshooting and repairs to minimize downtime and recover rejected or failed units


• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability, operational stability, and machine lifespan


• Drive continuous improvements in print quality, process efficiency, yield rates, and production scalability


• Support the transition from prototype manufacturing to high-volume production workflows with robust and repeatable additive manufacturing processes


• Work independently to prioritize production-critical tasks while maintaining alignment with manufacturing and operational goals


• Solve complex production and process challenges related to print consistency, material behavior, hardware reliability, and scaling constraints


• Deliver measurable impact on manufacturing throughput, production efficiency, and product quality across the organization


• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, mechanical engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturing readiness and operational continuity


• Partner closely with the Head of Production to establish, track, and improve key operational metrics including uptime, yield, throughput, and failure rates

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in additive manufacturing and 3D printing within production or manufacturing environments


• Proven expertise in mass-production slicing strategies and print optimization for high-throughput manufacturing


• Experience managing or supporting 24/7 production operations and print farm environments


• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DfM) principles within additive manufacturing workflows


• Experience with slicing software, print farm management platforms, and monitoring systems, including Bambu Labs ecosystem or similar tools


• Familiarity with FDM and SLS printing technologies, materials, and hardware maintenance


• Ability to diagnose and repair production hardware issues quickly and effectively in operational environments


• Strong technical troubleshooting and process optimization capabilities


• Experience tracking and improving manufacturing KPIs such as uptime, throughput, yield, and failure rates


• Ability to operate independently with high ownership in production-critical environments


• Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, production, and operations teams


• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to execute effectively under time pressure


• EU citizenship required
