Arbeitsbeschreibung - Head of HR

We are looking for a full-time Head of HR for Systemtechnik GmbH, one of our Modaxo companies based in central Germany.

In this role, you will lead the HR team (currently 1.5 FTE), while also contributing to operational excellence and strategic HR initiatives across the organization, which has about 110 employees in two locations in central Germany (Sömmerda and Bad Honnef). You will be reporting to the General Manager of the business and having a dotted line to the Group HR Director. A key focus of this role is to establish clear structures and reliable HR processes that ensure consistency, compliance, and operational excellence across the business.

This is a hybrid role.

Key Responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead and develop the HR team, while ensuring that scalable HR structures and robust end-to-end processes are implemented and continuously improved and alignment with business objectives.
  • Represent HR within the company’s management team and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver and execute HR strategies and initiatives in line with Group standards, covering Talent Management, Workforce Planning, Performance Management, Succession Planning and Employee Engagement.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to senior leaders to strengthen organizational culture and leadership capability.
  • Oversee and deliver day-to-day HR support for managers as HR Business Partner on employee relations, performance, absence, redundancy, and flexible working.
  • Build and maintain a trusted, collaborative relationship with the Works Council, ensuring effective communication and proactive management of all co‑determination and employee‑related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with German labor law, including the design and maintenance of transparent, audit proof HR processes and documentation standards.
  • Drive end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes.
  • Support training and development programs by identifying needs and coordinating with external providers.
  • Deliver quarterly HR reports on recruitment, retention, key People KPIs and workforce trends to drive operational improvements and inform strategic decisions.
  • Manage accurate personnel records and uphold data integrity across HR systems.
  • Budget responsibility for HR cost center, quarterly budget planning
  • Supporting and advising the management on personnel-related decisions and their implications
  • Promoting and helping to shape a positive corporate culture and employer branding.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A high impact, dynamic HR professional that thinks strategically with a record of consistently delivering results and an ability to deliver operational outcomes with various stakeholders
  • Proven track record in HR within international organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build structured HR processes, policies and governance frameworks that scale with the organization.
  • Strong understanding of German labor law.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday).
  • Ability to hire, manage, coach and mentor HR professionals in the team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English and German.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach.
  • Energetic, highly proactive and results oriented
  • Approachable, professional, and resilient.
  • Ability to work flexible hours under pressure to tight timescales
  • Passionate about employee development and engagement.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in Software industry preferable.
