At Innolume, we develop innovative optoelectronic semiconductor technologies for next-generation communication, sensing and photonic applications. Our expertise ranges from advanced quantum-dot and quantum-well technologies to customized photonic devices tailored to our customers' requirements.
To strengthen our engineering team, we are looking for an experienced optical coating engineer (f/m/d) who is passionate about optical thin-film technologies and turning advanced coating concepts into robust, production-ready processes.
In this role, you will take technical ownership of facet coating equipment and processes—from thin-film design and process development to characterization, troubleshooting and transfer into stable production. You will work hands-on with coating and measurement systems and collaborate closely with production, R&D, quality, and other engineering teams.
If you enjoy combining optics, materials science and process engineering and want to see your solutions make a tangible impact in photonic semiconductor manufacturing, we would love to meet you.
Aufgaben
Develop and optimize optical thin-film and facet coating processes for optoelectronic semiconductor devices
Take technical ownership of facet coating equipment, including maintenance coordination, measurement processes and failure analysis
Design and simulate thin-film stacks based on anti-reflection (AR) requirements and the optical properties of coating materials
Measure and characterize thin films using ellipsometry, SEM, profilometry and related metrology methods
Develop specialized passivation and thin-film coating concepts for different laser diode facets
Apply structured experimentation and statistical process control (SPC) to improve process capability, quality and yield
Improve coating and stacking processes, including related hardware and software
Transfer new coating processes and technologies from development into stable production
Analyze technical failures, troubleshoot complex process and equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions
