About the Role

In this role at TI you will experience how the latest and most innovative technologies for step down DCDC converters are developed, built and optimized.  You will join a team that develops buck converters which are powering future solutions in automotive, industrial or personal electronics, making people’s lives easier, safer and greener.

As a Product Engineer, you will play a critical role in the lifecycle of semiconductor products—from development and validation to production ramp-up and field performance monitoring. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, process, test, and manufacturing engineers, to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable products.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive new product development (NPI) with special focus on package definition and assembly/ manufacturing and reliability qualification, ensuring successful transition from development to high-volume.

• Collaborate with design, test, systems, marketing and applications teams in the definition and planning of new projects based on the customer needs.

• Setting up and qualifying products within our TI’s manufacturing processes and flows.

• Driving reliability testing on the device to ensure that the final product fulfills the lifetime requirements of the customer environment. Learn and understand stress impacts of various environmental conditions. Drive root cause investigation and fix definition for potential assembly and qual issues.

• Cooperating closely with all manufacturing sites across the world as well as with several other product development functions like silicon design/test/packaging/quality to provide a complete successful product to our customers. 

• Communicating with teams around the world on a daily basis and establishing strong relationships across TI’s worldwide network 

• Understand how the various components of the final IC work together from a physical, mechanical, chemical and electrical point of view and ensuring it can be reliably built in mass production by balancing cost with quality. 

• Work on new technology development projects, cost reductions, capacity expansions, yield enhancements and quality improvements. 

As a product engineer, you play a vital role in ensuring the quality and performance of TI’s innovative IC products by defining, realizing and maintaining all aspects of an IC which go beyond the silicon circuit and are equally critical to meet our customers’ needs. 

Minimum requirements

• Master‘s/Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Microsystems Technology, Material Science, Physics or a related field.
• Knowledge or high interest level about semiconductor fabrication processes, manufacturing flows and reliability testing, including electrical, physical, mechanical and chemical interaction of various components going into a semiconductor device. 
• Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and materials science and basic understanding of electronic circuits.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, global team environment with other technical departments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (english) are a must. German language skill is a plus.
• Strong team player able to collaborate with people from different functional areas and ability to establish strong relationships with our key world-wide stakeholders 
• Understanding of IC packaging and failure analysis techniques is a plus
• Basic experience with Python development and Claude Code
• Experience in Ansys, Cadence or similar modelling/simulations SW tools 
• Ability to quickly ramp on new processes and proactively drive for results 
• Strong time management skills to enable on-time project delivery 
• High motivation leven for continuous learning
