(Founding) Business Development Representative

Coverflex

Coverflex started with a simple observation: work changed, but compensation didn’t.

A few founders looked at how people were being paid across Europe — rigid salary structures, fragmented benefits, systems that were complex for HR and often meaningless for employees — and realized the model simply hadn’t kept up with modern work.

So we decided to rebuild it.

What began in Portugal as a small team trying to fix a broken compensation system quickly grew into one of the most ambitious compensation platforms in Southern Europe. Today, thousands of companies use Coverflex to manage benefits, meal allowance, insurance, and flexible compensation through a single platform.

But what makes Coverflex special isn’t just the product — it’s how we build.

We’re a team of people who like solving hard problems, moving fast, and taking real ownership. We care about clarity, autonomy, and impact. Titles matter less than outcomes, and good ideas can come from anywhere.

Now we’re entering our next chapter.

After building strong traction in Portugal, Spain, and Italy, we’re expanding into Germany — one of Europe’s most sophisticated and complex compensation markets.

Launching a new country at Coverflex isn’t about “copy-pasting” what already exists. It’s about building again — understanding the market, challenging old assumptions, and creating something that truly works for local companies and employees.

If you join at this stage, you won’t just be joining a company.

You’ll be helping build the next chapter of it.

Your Impact

Your role will play a major role in our success because you’ll be one of the first BDRs dedicated to the German market, directly fueling our sales pipeline and revenue growth.

You’ll be the engine behind new opportunities — opening doors, creating conversations, and ensuring our Account Executives spend their time on high-quality, well-qualified meetings.

You’ll know you’re successful when, after 90 days, you’ve:

• Built a strong outbound rhythm with consistent, high-quality activity

How we’ll measure success:

• Main KPI 1: Number of outbound activities (calls)

• Secondary KPI 1: Pipeline and revenue influenced

• Secondary KPI 2: CRM data quality and feedback loops

⚡ Reality Check - What Makes This Role Hard

Let’s be real — here’s what makes this role challenging:

• High volume of outreach with frequent rejection

• A strong focus on phone-based prospecting (cold calls are key)

• You need resilience, consistency, and energy — even on hard days

• You’ll be measured on inputs and outputs, not just effort

• Fast feedback loops: you’ll constantly adapt based on results

• You’ll need to help build structure where it doesn’t fully exist yet, contributing to playbooks, processes, and feedback loops that will shape how our GTM motion is set up in Germany

This role is not about comfort — it’s about growth, grit, and momentum.

You

Must-haves (evidence, not years)

• Self-driven, proactive mindset, with strong motivation to continuously improve

• Outcome-focused approach, where “good enough” beats perfect and impact beats process

• Iterative, curious, entrepreneurial mindset, focused on bringing solutions, not just problems

• Resilience in the face of rejection, with the ability to hear “no” without taking it personally

• Creative problem-solving ability when the obvious path is blocked

• Strong verbal communication skills

• Fluency in English and German

Nice-to-have

• SMB outbound sales experience

• Knowledge of the benefits market

• Exposure to tech, HR, finance, or benefits-related ICPs

• Strong CRM usage habits, with HubSpot experience as a plus

• Spanish, Italian, or Portuguese language skills

Your DNA

• Proactive: you bring energy, initiative, and resilience to your work

• Persuasive: you influence others effectively without being aggressive

• Objection-ready: you stay comfortable handling pushback and difficult conversations

• Calm under pressure: you remain grounded and composed in challenging situations

• Coachable: you actively seek and embrace continuous feedback to improve

You’ll probably find this frustrating if…

• You lack ambition

• You struggle with feedback

• You give up easily after rejection

• You prefer low-activity, low-pressure roles
