System Engineer (Data center) [gn]

At LUMASERV you will manage and oversee our infrastructure running our customers products, serving millions of users every day.
This role involves the operational management of host systems, our routing, switching and storage infrastructure as well as the hardware within our datacenter using latest technologies.
A deep understanding of cloud technologies, network management and datacenter center operations along with a proactive approach to system maintenance and enhancement is required.
You will have the ability to hire and work with your own team supported by our leadership team. Therefore this role requires a combination of technical expertise and leadership skills.

• Ensuring a stable service of network and cloud hypervisors
• System maintenance, optimisation and extension
• Patch management
• Implementation and extension of monitoring tools
• Building up a team of fellow system engineers

• Deep understanding of networks (including switching and routing), on prem infrastructures, host systems, virtualisations, datacenter hardware and CEPH storage solutions
• Experience in managing network infrastructure as well as maintaining infrastructure for more than 1000 Linux based VMs
• Knowledge in cloud technologies as well as maintaining infrastructure in public cloud environments
• Skills in implementing and using monitoring tools for early detection and resolution of system issues
• Knowledge of IT security standards and compliance requirements
• Ability to plan, coordinate and successful execution of complex projects
