Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Equity IT System Developer to join a leading global financial institution. You will be responsible for the end-to-end development, enhancement, and support of proprietary front-office and middle-office trading systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects, from automating deployment pipelines to refining complex data interfaces in a fast-paced trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Full-Stack Development: Design and develop robust in-house systems and interfaces for middle and back-office operations.
2. System Lifecycle Management: Lead system analysis, execute rigorous testing (unit, functional, and integration), and maintain comprehensive design specifications.
3. Operational Support: Provide 2nd-line support for technical issues; collaborate with Database and Infrastructure teams to ensure high system availability.
4. Data & Analytics: Enhance and support Excel-based tools, Bloomberg/Reuters static data systems, and Linux-based batch jobs.
5. Strategic Consulting: Conduct feasibility studies and impact assessments for new business requirements, presenting technical recommendations to stakeholders.
6. Process Optimization: Drive efficiency by automating deployment and release processes and supporting regional IT initiatives.

Technical Qualifications

Essential Skills:

1. Programming: Strong hands-on experience in C# or Java .
2. Scripting & OS: Proficient in Linux environment and Shell Scripting .
3. Database: Solid experience with SQL Server (SSIS experience is highly preferred).
4. Specialized Tools: Advanced Excel VBA for financial tool development.

Desirable Skills:

1. Exposure to Python or AWS Cloud .
2. Familiarity with industry-standard platforms: Omgeo CTM, Gloss, Ullink, or Fidessa .

Candidate Requirements

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Experience: At least 3 years of experience within Investment Banking or Securities Trading , with a focus on middle/back-office systems.
3. Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of Equity Trading workflows and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
4. Communication: Excellent command of English and Chinese (both written and spoken).
5. Soft Skills: A self-motivated multitasker with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a regional team.
6. Availability: Ability to provide early-shift support as required by market hours.
7. Languages: Prefer Cantonese speakers
