Job Description - Solution Architect - Large-Scale Financial Platform

The hiring company is a well-established technology solutions provider in Hong Kong, delivering large-scale digital transformation and managed services for enterprise and public sector clients.

Job Description

Design and implement solution architectures covering applications, data, integration, infrastructure, and security
Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions and delivery roadmaps
Establish and maintain architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices across systems
Review existing systems and recommend improvements to address scalability, performance, and technical debt
Drive adoption of modern architecture approaches including microservices, APIs, containers, and cloud-based solutions
Evaluate new technologies and provide recommendations to enhance system capabilities and efficiency
Provide technical leadership on complex issues, including design reviews and troubleshooting
Support delivery teams using Agile and DevOps practices to ensure smooth implementation
Ensure solutions meet relevant regulatory and security requirements within the financial sector
Mentor team members and promote knowledge sharing across teams

The Successful Applicant

Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline
Minimum 8 years of IT experience, with solid exposure to solution or enterprise architecture
Experience handling large-scale systems with high transaction volumes
Background in financial services, insurance, pension, or similar regulated industries is highly preferred
Strong understanding of system design, integration, and architecture principles
Familiar with Agile and DevOps ways of working
Ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Fluent in English and Cantonese (Mandarin is an advantage)
Experience with container platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift)
Knowledge of messaging and streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, JMS)
Familiar with development frameworks such as Java (Spring Boot) and frontend technologies
Solid understanding of both relational and NoSQL databases
Exposure to microservices, event-driven design, API integration, and hybrid cloud environments
