Job Description - Account Director (Listed Co) - Financial PR
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Associate Director. This role will lead client accounts, provide strategic counsel, and help drive integrated communications programmes across public and private market clients.
The ideal candidate will have strong financial communications experience, excellent media relations skills, and the ability to build trusted client relationships while supporting new business growth and team development.
Key responsibilities
Lead day-to-day management of key client accounts, ensuring high-quality delivery and strong client satisfaction.
Develop and implement strategic financial PR and corporate communications programmes.
Provide expert counsel on media positioning, messaging, issues management, and crisis communications.
Draft and review a wide range of communications materials, including press releases, speeches, Q&As, media statements, briefing notes, and corporate announcements.
Manage media relations and proactively secure coverage across business, financial, and trade media.
Support clients on transactions, funding announcements, earnings, corporate updates, and other market-sensitive communications.
Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
Lead and mentor junior team members, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development support.
Contribute to new business development, including pitching, proposal writing, and prospect meetings.
Collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver integrated communications solutions.
Requirements
Around 10 years of experience in financial PR, corporate communications, investor relations, or agency-side communications.
Strong understanding of financial markets, corporate affairs, and reputation management.
Proven track record of managing client accounts and delivering strategic communications advice.
Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills.
Strong media network and experience dealing with business and financial media.
Confident client-facing presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Commercial mindset with experience supporting pitches and business development.
Strong project management and people leadership skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred experience
Experience working across both private and public market clients.
Exposure to transactions, fundraising, listing-related communications, or crisis/issues management.
Familiarity with ESG, corporate governance, and broader corporate communications.
Experience in a consultancy or agency environment.
