Asia Hedge Fund VP, Legal Counsel

An established hedge fund is looking to hire a legal counsel. The role will have coverage across the APAC region and will be part of a small team with direct visibility to the General Counsel and senior management so there will be abundant learning and progression opportunities.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

1. Work closely with the General Counsel to provide legal support across a wide array of matters including trading documentation, commercial contracts, employment law etc.
2. Provide legal advice on governance and ongoing operations.
3. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including ISDAs, prime brokerage, trading agreements, NDAs, and vendor/service provider agreements.
4. Advice on corporate matters including entity formation, board documentation, shareholder agreements, and employment law issues.

To be eligible for this role you will require:

1. Around 5-10 years PQE within the buy side industry (hedge fund preferred but candidates from a wider background in global markets, investment management or prime brokerage will be considered).
2. Fluent in Mandarin and/or Cantonese will be advantageous.
3. Able to work independently. Collaborative mindset.
