About the Role
As an Assistant Vice President/Senior Manager, Design (Interior Design), you will lead and manage all interior design matters for hotel development and asset enhancement projects, ensuring that Company Design Standards are consistently implemented while meeting brand, operational, budget and timeline requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive design excellence and innovation while ensuring compliance with Company Design Standards, brand requirements, guest experience expectations, and operational needs
- Provide strategic direction and oversight to consultants, operators, contractors, and internal stakeholders on all design-related matters
- Review design concepts, drawings, material selections, mock-ups, and tender documentation to ensure quality, practicality, durability, and cost effectiveness
- Monitor project progress, identify risks or delays, and lead resolution of design-related issues to maintain project timelines
- Oversee design budgets and tender evaluations in partnership with Procurement and project teams
- Conduct site visits to ensure approved designs, standards, and quality requirements are achieved, and drive corrective actions where needed
- Lead the continuous review and enhancement of Company Design Standards in response to evolving business, operational, and market needs
- Build, mentor, and supervise the interior design managers, providing leadership and professional guidance to them and other team members
- Stay abreast of trends, innovations, materials, and technologies in hospitality design and apply relevant best practices to projects
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline
- At least 15 years of relevant experience, including significant leadership experience in hospitality, luxury, or large-scale mixed-use development projects. Candidates with less experience may be considered as Senior Manager
- Proven track record in managing multiple projects from concept design through completion
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience leading consultants, cross-functional teams, and senior project participants
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese; Mandarin is an advantage due to project needs
- Commercially aware, with strong understanding of budget control and project delivery
- Detail-oriented, proactive, creative, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
