Pay :
HK$161,107 to HK$185,614 (HGPS Point 45 to 49) per month including Monthly Allowance
Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Provide specialist services.
2. Supervise Residents undergoing specialist training.
3. Undertake administrative work.
4. Undergo continuing medical education and professional development.
Entry Requirements :
1. Registered medical practitioner under the Medical Registration Ordinance; and
2. Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Surgery) Cardio-thoracic Surgery Board or equivalent; and
3. Registered in the Specialist Register in the relevant specialty of the Medical Council of Hong Kong.
1. Staff members in the rank are expected to meet the 4 core competencies set for the Associate Consultant post. They are :

iii. People and team competency.
iv. Organization effectiveness.
2. Contribution to professional development including research, teaching and training.

Candidate(s) who have not acquired the entry requirements under 2 and 3 but passed the exit examination and completed the necessary specialist training requirements before the application deadline may apply. If found suitable for appointment, they may be appointed to the post subject to their production of the required qualifications i.e. FHKAM and specialist registration within 12 months after appointment to the post.
3. A full curriculum vitae and one written reference from the applicant’s supervisor within the past 5 years on the applicant’s personality, professional skills, management competency and performance are required.
4. The service of Queen Elizabeth Hospital will be relocated to the Kai Tak Hospital in phases starting from year 2026.
